About This Project

Who doesn’t like a good opera? Of course, we’re talking about a digital opera in this case. We scanned the artists performing in this project (including Kate Miller-Heidke, who represented Australia in 2019’s Eurovision contest). Users are immersed in a digital space where digital characters perform, a Virtual Reality opera.

For this project, scans for motion capture were required. We had a full day scan session packed with every possible facial expression the human visage can perform, to make sure the result was as realistic as possible.

Eight‘s  world premiere takes place on the 4th of June at the Holland Festival (Amsterdam, the Netherlands). Following locations: Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in July 2019, Beijing Music Festival in October 2019, and Kunst Fest Spiele during May 2020.
